On Tuesday, May 19, weather conditions across Bulgaria will remain mostly cloudy, with instability increasing in the afternoon hours, especially in the southern half of the country and mountainous regions.
Forecasters expect scattered rain showers after midday, mainly in southern areas and the mountains, where precipitation may be accompanied by thunderstorms. Northern Bulgaria will continue to experience windy conditions. Daily highs will range between 19C and 24C, with Sofia expected to reach around 20C.
In mountainous areas, cloud cover will dominate throughout the day. Short-lived but locally intense showers are forecast after noon, particularly over the Rila-Rhodope region and central Stara Planina, with thunderstorms in some locations. Winds will initially blow from the west-northwest at moderate strength, gradually shifting to a north-northeasterly direction in the later hours. Temperatures will reach about 15C at 1200 meters and around 7C at 2000 meters altitude.
Along the Black Sea coast, skies will be variable, often more heavily overcast. Morning winds will come from the west-northwest, turning in the afternoon to the east-southeast. Maximum coastal temperatures will be between 18C and 23C. Sea water temperatures are expected to remain between 14C and 17C, with wave conditions around level 2.
Across the wider Balkan region, cloudiness will also prevail. Many areas will see afternoon showers, with thunderstorms possible in Slovenia. Rainfall will be limited in Serbia and far southern Greece, while heavier precipitation is expected in parts of central Greece and eastern Albania.
